10-inch and 13-inch logs are ideal for double-door log burners as they require larger fuel loads to operate efficiently.

• Volume: Double-door stoves generally have a high heat output (8kW to 15kW+). Their wide internal chambers easily accommodate longer logs.
• Proportional airflow: Large stoves draw in a massive volume of air. Smaller 8-inch logs would burn away far too quickly in these high-oxygen environments.
• Fewer reloads: A 13-inch log has a dense core. It burns slowly and steadily, meaning you do not have to constantly open the doors to reload.
