Logs for Open Fires

10-inch and 13-inch logs are ideal for  open fires because they require larger fuel loads to operate efficiently.

• No size restrictions: Open hearths lack the restrictive metal walls or delicate firebricks of a small stove, giving you total freedom of log length.
• Sustained heat: Open fires loose a lot of heat up the chimney. Thick 10 or 13-inch logs create a deep, glowing coal bed that projects radiant heat forward into the room.
• Visual aesthetics: A traditional open fireplace looks best with a substantial, slow-burning fire. Large logs look proportional to a wide hearth.
